Mr. Rieth is a registered patent attorney who practices intellectual property (IP) law. His practice emphasizes IP procurement and IP portfolio management. He assists clients in strategic IP development, targeted towards the client's business goals. He provides legal opinions including patent-ability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions. He also performs IP due diligence in support of transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, asset purchases, and licensing agreements.

Mr. Rieth has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in numerous technologies, including: computer software and hardware; Internet-related technologies; peripheral device software and hardware; telecommunication systems; and an extensive array of medical devices.

Prior to joining Hensley, Kim & Holzer, Mr. Rieth was a patent attorney for the firms of Faegre & Benson, Merchant & Gould, and Lee & Hayes. His previous professional experience includes practicing as an engineer developing avionics software and systems at Honeywell, Inc. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
